Christian Bale has broken ground on a $22 million foster care village in Palmdale, California, a unique project designed to keep siblings together. The village, expected to open in 2025, will include 12 homes and a community center, offering a stable environment for children in foster care who are too often separated.
Bale’s passion for the cause began in 2008, after learning about the struggles of siblings in Los Angeles’ foster system. What started as a personal mission has grown into a long-term initiative through Together California, the nonprofit he co-founded with Tim McCormick and Dr. Eric Esrailian.

Despite delays, funding challenges, and the pandemic, Bale never gave up. Public funding was secured in 2022, designs were finalized in 2023, and construction began in early 2024.

The actor has been hands-on throughout the process, working closely with architects and community leaders. “I love design, I love architecture, and seeing it finally come to life is very exciting,” Bale shared.

Although more fundraising and foster parent recruitment are still needed, the momentum is strong. For Bale, this is not just charity — it’s a life goal and legacy. “When I draw my last breath, this will be one of the things I’m most proud of,” he said.

With the project now underway, Christian Bale is proving that his greatest role may be off-screen — building a future where siblings in foster care can grow up together in a true home.
